Freedom, Liberty and Choice take a back seat....

The House and Senate and our fine Governor cut another slice out of the freedom pie this week. They passed and he signed the restriction on Pay Day loans.

Only big brother can properly decide the correct choice for you financially, protect you from "predators," oh, and limit your freedom.

Here was the vote. With a grand total of 28 members standing for liberty and the Constitution.

Thankfully Michigan allows payday lending - more business heading north.

Shameful - remember these names in the voting booth.

I agree with you, TAHL. Liberty means being free to make the mistake of using loan sharks and the like. Liberty means raising your own food without confiscation from the government, but it ALSO means starving if you haven't prepared any means of feeding yourself.

Liberals never like the downside of liberty. Why do they insist on calling themselves "LIBERal", anyway"

As simply put at possible, it "feels good" to be a liberal. It is easy to speak in platitudes about how "In a country as great as ours, no one should be hungry, without health care, or be in debt." Its easy to pretend to "care" about people and provide for them that which they fail to provide themselves.

However, such emotional rhetoric is no way to run a country. To do so you must create and support class envy making it OK to steal from one citizen "the rich" and give to the poor, needy, helpless other.

The problem is the liberal doesn't even see the insult in considering on person helpless and in need of government oversight of their every day living.

The A-Hole.

I agree, if someone wants to take a payday loan, they should be allowed.
